Responsible gaming management

The corporate vision of Sociedad Estatal Loterías y Apuestas del Estado (SELAE) includes a strong commitment to Responsible Gaming Management (RGM) .
In this respect, SELAE pays particular attention to this, its official channel of online participation since, due to its interactive nature, it can give rise to conditions which are potentially conducive to intense gambling.
As a result of the above, SELAE has set forth on its website the measures described as follows:

MEASURES FOR THE PROTECTION OF MINORS

loteriasyapuestas.es does not accept the signing up of minors under any circumstances and notifies all of its website visitors accordingly, particularly those seeking to sign up.

To guarantee compliance with this policy, SELAE is fully committed to verifying the veracity of the data provided by all online participants, through verification mechanisms set forth and in and required by the Spanish Gambling Act, Law 13/2011 of 27 May.

In terms of the technical measures in place to minimise the risk of unlawful access by a minor to an adult account, we provide all our registered users with the proper information to ensure that their passwords remain confidential. In addition, the use of an automatic password "save" option is not allowed on this website since this could allow minors using adult immediate unverified access to adult content.
SELAE keeps a record of all access attempts, successful or not, for subsequent auditing.

PREVENTIVE ACTIONS AGAINST EXCESSIVE OR PATHOLOGICAL ONLINE GAMBLING

The information plages on the mechanics and regulations of each game clearly state the amount of the bets allowed in each game. Additionally, throughout the entire betting prediction and processing process, the system consistently keeps the player informed as to the total and final amount of the bet. Also, once the purchase is complete, the historical record of expenses can be viewed in a complete annual expenditure list, which can also be exported into a text file for subsequent treatment by the participant.
To avoid any form of compulsive buying, intentional or otherwise, the system does not allow identical bets to be placed by means of repeated clicks on the buy button.

1. RGIAJ Check - General Register of Prohibitions from Access to Gambling
The General Register of Banned Gamblers (RGIAJ) is a public register created pursuant to the Spanish Gambling Act 13/2011, for citizens who choose to exercise their right to voluntarily submit to banning from gambling activities. Similarly, this list also includes citizens who have been banned by court order from access to gambling and those who are legally incapacitated for this activity.
Gambling operators, including SELAE, are obliged by the Spanish Gambling Act to adhere to the requirements of this law, to take into account the data publicly offered by the RGIAJ for the purposes of restricting the access of these people to online gambling services, particularly betting and the collecting of winnings.

2. Statement of time spent playing
When the user logs in the system displays information about his/her previous session, thus ensuring he/she is fully aware of their last logins to the online gambling service.
SELAE displays the current time on screen throughout the entire session so that the player does not lose track of time whilst playing.

3. Promoting responsible gaming
The SELAE does not call for any actions that could promote the risk of gambling addiction or pathalogical gambling.
The user can browse and discover any of our games, without having to actually participate in them. The option to participate is always offered on an additional, voluntary basis.
If the player has lost in the previous games, the system will not encourage him/her to continue playing to win back his/her losses and once the user decides to quit, he/she will not be offered free games or promotions in order to coax him/her to continue playing.

MEASURES PLAYERS CAN TAKE TO PUT SELF-IMPOSED LIMITS IN PLACE FOR THEMSELVES

1. Self-imposed limits on top-up amounts and online gaming
In accordance with article 36 of Royal Decree 1614/2011 governing the Spanish Gambling Act 13/2011, with regad to licences, authorisations and gambling registers, SELAE does not currently allow players to deposit onto their online gaming account amounts greater than: 

• 400 euros daily amount
• 1,500 euros weekly amount
• 3,000 euros monthly amount

 All players have the option of reducting the authorised deposit limits Any reduction in authorised deposit limits will come into effect immediately.
Regardless of the top-up limits, all players have an online player profile field where they can state their weekly spending limit. Each time they attempt to play one of our games, the system will monitor the amount of the bets placed over 7 days to ensure this value is not exceeded.

2. Self-exclusion from online participation
If you take part in our games online and you feel you may not be able to control yourself, or you just want to avoid online gambling, Loterías del Estado offers you a self-banning service whereby you can block your account temporarily.
Self-banning is a process whereby you can block your gaming account for a selected set period, thereby preventing yourself from playing our online games during that time. These periods can last from a number of weeks to permanent suspension.
During the period of temporary self-banning, the user cannot unlock his/her accounts him/herself, nor can they:

• take part in any other SELAE games on loteriasyapuestas.es
• top up their gaming account
• receive promotional offers or notifications from SELAE
• open another user account

In the event of temporary self-banning, at the end of the set period, your user profile is automatically reactivated and you are then allowed to operate once again as normal. In the event of pernanent self banning, SELAE will give you the option to request readmission. 

3. Voluntary registration on the General Register of Banned Gamblers
